The 9th and 10th Regions held their region softball tournament draws Thursday.
The 37th District champion Campbell County Camels (16-10) and runner-up Bishop Brossart Lady ‘Stangs (12-17) play their quarterfinal games Saturday at Montgomery County. Campbell County drew 40th District runner-up George Rogers Clark (14-12) at Noon. Campbell County edged GRC, 6-5 on April 22 in a time-shortened six innings in Winchester.
Bishop Brossart will face 39th District champion Bracken County (20-10) at 2 p.m. Brossart downed Bracken County, 3-2 in Alexandria on May 5.
The semifinals take place Monday at 3 and 5 p.m. The championship game takes place Tuesday at 7 p.m.
The district champions in the 9th Region earned the right to play host to quarterfinal games Sunday. One of the district champions knew they would face 33rd District runner-up Cooper (24-10) in that round Sunday.
35th District champion Notre Dame (13-10) drew the Lady Jaguars, who entered the season as the favorite to win the 9th Region. Cooper won both meetings during the regular season. The game starts at 1 p.m.
Four-time 36th District champion Highlands (23-14) drew Villa Madonna (19-10) at noon. The teams did not play during the regular season. The winners of those two games meet Monday at 11 a.m. at Notre Dame.
The two games on the other side of the bracket start at 1 p.m. Three-time 34th District champion Dixie Heights (21-6) takes on Newport Central Catholic (10-10). The two did not meet during the regular season.
The other game puts 33rd District champion Ryle (18-14) against Beechwood (15-17). Ryle run-ruled the Tigers, 19-3 in three innings on March 24. The winners meet Monday at 1:30 p.m. at Notre Dame.
The region championship is Tuesday or Wednesday at 4 p.m.
