After 31 years of celebrations and countless memories, the Newport Syndicate will close its chapter under current ownership at the end of the year.
Longtime owner Sharon Forton is retiring, and Newport’s BB Riverboats is taking over operations of the event venue beginning Jan. 1, 2027, bringing new resources and opportunities to the space.
Before the next chapter begins, the Newport Syndicate plans to spend the rest of 2026 hosting plenty of events.
The celebration will culminate on New Year’s Eve with one final party under Forton’s ownership. The evening will feature longtime Newport Syndicate favorite The Rusty Griswolds, along with McFadden Music, as friends, former guests, clients and members of the community are invited to gather to welcome 2027.
There is still time to host a holiday party, corporate gathering, birthday party or other special event at the Newport Syndicate before the end of the year. Several Murder Mystery Dinners and other public programs are planned through the end of 2026, giving guests a chance to return for one last meal and those who have always wanted to visit a final opportunity to experience the Newport Syndicate under its current ownership.
While the change marks the end of an era for Forton and her team, the event venue itself will continue. BB Riverboats will assume the venue’s existing event commitments, and currently contracted events will continue in the same event spaces. All clients with events booked for 2027 and 2028 have been personally contacted regarding the transition.
