Marques Warrick has picked his new home.

Warrick, Northern Kentucky University’s all-time men’s basketball scoring leader announced on Wednesday that he’s headed to play in the Southeastern Conference at the University of Missouri.

The former Norse guard had withered down his list to five schools after a boatload were interested in his services. He chose Missouri over Cincinnati, USC, Seton Hall and Penn State.

“I want to thank (NKU) Coach (Darrin) Horn and his staff for believing in me and giving me a chance when others wouldn’t,” Warrick said. “To my teammates: Thank you for all of the memories and lifelong friendships that were made.”

Warrick has one year of eligibility remaining as a grad transfer. He initially stated in March that he would declare for the NBA Draft while maintaining his college eligibility and entering the NCAA transfer portal.

He finished his career at NKU with 2,246 points, passing Drew McDonald’s 2,066 in a Feb. 10 game against Detroit. Warrick averaged 19.9 points for the Norse during the 2023-24 season as they went 18-15 and lost in the Horizon League Conference Tournament semifinals.

Warrick, who played his high school basketball at Henry Clay in Lexington, garnered Horizon League first-team honors this past season. He also earned the league’s sportsmanship award.

He also earned the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) District 12 second-team honors this season.

Warrick played in 125 games in his NKU career and finished with an average of 18 points per game over four years.
