LINK nky is once again excited to partner with OrthoCincy Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine and announce the highly popular Team of the Week and Team of the Season awards are back for 2025-26 sports seasons!

The fifth LINK nky Team of the Week (TOW) for the spring sports season presented by Ortho Cincy is the Campbell County girls track and field team.

A bonus for the Campbell County girls track and field team is that they are now eligible for Team of the Season (TOS) for the spring sports season. St. Henry’s boys cross country team won TOS for the fall, Highlands swim and dive team winning TOS for the winter. The TOW for the spring sports season as the weekly nominations and winners will run through the end of May. Simon Kenton boys volleyball team won the first TOW for the spring sports season, Campbell County’s softball team won the second TOW, Villa Madonna the third and Campbell County’s girls track and field team the fourth winner. A vote will follow for TOS when the spring sports season is wrapped up to determine the winner. Then we’ll turn to Team of the Year (TOY) voting in the middle of June. Each TOS winner will receive a $500 scholarship that will go to an athlete of their choice and they will then be considered for TOY.

For the team that is awarded TOY, online and print articles will again be published, a large commemorative plaque will be presented and the school will receive an additional $500 scholarship to be presented to the athlete of their choice at the end of the school year. The call for nominations, voting and winning announcement for each will follow the same format as the TOTW.

The Camels won their first NKAC Division I title since 2012 last week.

A look at the sprint relay results showed a major reason the Camels finished first. They won the 4×200 in 1:46.63 and 4×100 shuttle hurdles in 1:12.39 and placed second in the 800 sprint medley in 1:52.30. Campbell County was strong in distance relays, too: a win in the 4×400 (4:09.78), second in the distance medley (13:07.81) and 4×800 (10:01.49), and sixth in 4×1,600 (26:22.38).

Congratulations to our other nominees as well: Bishop Brossart baseball, Villa Madonna baseball, Ludlow softball and Covington Catholic track and field.

Check the website on Monday for the new Team of the Week nominees for the week of May 4-10!
