Bellevue announced on Facebook Tuesday that it had covered up its Flock cameras around the city.

This follows the Bellevue City Council’s move to suspend use of the technology at its Sept. 9 meeting until the end of its two-year contract with the company.

Council member Shauna Kruse recommended suspending usage during the Sept. 9 meeting because she said taking them down could be costly.

The city has more than a year left on the $43,000 contract with Flock.

In the past month, several Northern Kentucky cities have ended their Flock program, including Independence, Erlanger and Newport.
