The LINK nky Team of the Week for April 24 through 30 presented by Ortho Cincy is the Villa Madonna track and field team.
The Vikings ran away with things last week as they dominated with 90% of the vote.
Earning Villa Madonna Team of the Week honors was their performance at the Northern Kentucky Athletic Conference Division III track and field championships.
VILLA MADONNA TRACK AND FIELD
It was a clean sweep for the Vikings at the Northern Kentucky Athletic Conference Division III track and field championships on April 29 at Walton-Verona.
The boys team had eight winners in events that also included a couple relay events while the girls team won 11 events and all four of the relays.
The boys, scoring 154 to outlast Bellevue’s 134 got first place finishes from: Ethan Martin, 800 meters (2:17.39), Adam Kolar, 3,200 meters (10:39.07), Neil Adley, 110-meter hurdles (17.70), Adley, 300-meter hurdles (45.07), the 4×200 (1:46.48), 4×400 (3:52.25) and 4×800 (9:11.35) relay teams and Eli Cordonnier in the pole vault (8-0).
The girls scored 170 points and outscored the competition by nearly 100 points, Ludlow in second with 74. First place finishers for the Viking girls were: Brooklyn Pickens, 100-meter dash (14.31), Maddie Bailey, 400 meters (1:07.16), Bailey, 800 meters (2:51.56), Alyssa Martin, 1,600 meters (6:39.72), Norie Barker, 3,200 meters (14:35.59), the 4×100 (58.31), 4×200 (2:08.33), 4×400 (4:59.76) and 4×800 (12:13.17) relay teams and Ava Borchers in the high jump (4-04) and long jump (12-07).
