The LINK nky Team of the Week for February 20-26 presented by Ortho Cincy is the Gray Middle School archery team.

Gray had strong voter turnout, receiving over 4,000 votes as they ran away with the honors.

Earning Gray Team of the Week honors was their performance in Kansas at Border Wars.

GRAY MIDDLE SCHOOL ARCHERY

Gray traveled to Kansas to compete in a multi-state invitational tournament known as Border Wars and achieved second Place. The team then dominated the middle school division at the Boone County High Schools State Qualifying Event. At Boone, the team shot a new season high (3,325), clinching them as being ranked currently third in the state and seventh in the nation. They not only beat the second place middle school team by 300 points, but they also beat every high school team except Ryle in this tournament, a rarity in the sport.

Jack Albertson hit a very impressive 290 out of 300 score and one of the girls, Abigail Jewell, hit a 288 out of 300.

Gray Middle School is a team being recognized for moral, additional motivational purposes, and outstanding performance.

Congratulations to the other nominees as well: Bishop Brossart girls basketball team, Cooper boys basketball team and the Walton-Verona wrestling team.
