Mrs. Karen Riegler, of Union, KY (pictured right), who kindly serves as general chair of the 2025-2026 ACUE Annual Fund, attended the recent ACUE donor appreciation luncheon hosted by Holy Cross Elementary School, a member of the ACUE Consortium. ACUE stands for the Alliance for Catholic Urban Education, the centralized bookkeeping and fundraising arm of the five urban elementary schools of the Diocese of Covington. Mrs. Riegler was joined at the event by Ms. MaryAnn Pietromonaco, of Villa Hills, (pictured left), past chair of the 2024-2025 ACUE Annual Fund. Ms. Pietromonaco led a record-setting appeal and supports Mrs. Riegler and the ACUE board in their pursuit of another successful appeal. Last year’s annual appeal supported over 50% of the ACUE budget that funds the five ACUE schools, and in particular the tremendous need for tuition assistance. The five schools include: Holy Cross Elementary, Latonia; Holy Trinity, Bellevue; Prince of Peace, Covington; St. Anthony, Taylor Mill; St. Augustine, Covington. Both Mrs. Riegler and Ms. Pietromonaco are members of the ACUE Development Advisory Board. The ACUE Annual Fund will close on June 30. All gifts to the fund are deeply appreciated. Both spoke of the importance of supporting the urban Catholic schools and students. In addition to lunch, those in attendance were also treated to a musical performance by students of the school introduced by Principal, Ms. Beth Vieth, and led by music teacher, Mrs. Lorinda Vennemann.
