Area residents are invited to take part in two upcoming community cleanup efforts in Bellevue and Dayton, Kentucky, in recognition of Earth Day.

On Wednesday, April 22, Bellevue Mayor Charlie Cleves is asking for volunteers to assist with a cleanup effort at the newest portion of Bellevue Beach Park. Participants will help pile rocks for park maintenance crews to remove at a later time. The mayor will be on site from 6 to 8 p.m., but volunteers are welcome to stop by at any time throughout the week to help. The park is located at 643 Frank Benke Way, Bellevue, KY 41073.

A second cleanup event will take place Sunday, April 26, in Bellevue and Dayton, Kentucky. The effort will kick off at 9:45 a.m. at Liquor King, 118 Sixth Ave., with cleanup activities running from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Volunteers will assist in beautification efforts throughout the cities. Trash bags, gloves, safety vests and water will be provided. A limited number of trash grabbers will be available, and participants are encouraged to bring their own if possible.

Community members are welcome to participate in one or both events and may stay for as long as their schedules allow.
