St. Mary’s students on the VEX Robotics teams secured the State Championship and Excellence Award at the VEX Robotics Competition that took place in Shelbyville, Ky. Students competed with and against teams from Kentucky. The action-packed day required middle students to execute the 2023-2024 VEX Robotics Competition game, Over Under presented by the Robotics Education & Competition (REC) Foundation.
This also marks the second year in a row the 56772B team has won the state championship, making them the first St. Mary team to be back to back Vex Robotics State Championships. Tom Rowe, the team’s advisor said, “I am proud of these students for their ability to take what they have learned and apply it to building and programming a robot from concept to completion. The two teams worked exceptionally well together and that was the key to their success. It has been remarkable to see what they have accomplished, their resilience in fighting through some tough situations and inspiring to think about the impact they will have in the future on the world around them.”
