Rare and hard-to-find bourbon is up for grabs in a raffle that will benefit the Kentucky Symphony Orchestra.
The orchestra’s Annual Rare Bourbon raffle on May 7 will help fund free summer concerts in Devou and Tower parks this summer. The summer performance schedule begins in July and runs through September. Two raffles will be held to give a list of 20 bourbons to 20 winners, and one set of rare bourbon to a single raffle winner.
The Party Source donated a five-bottle set of Pappy Van Winkle Bourbon in addition to 20 other bourbon bottles for the raffle. In the five-bottle prize is a set of 20- and 23-year-old bourbon released in November 2021. According to the Kentucky Symphony Orchestra, the release of Old Rip and Pappy Van Winkle yielded fewer bottles than expected, making the set hard to come by.
Tickets for the five-bottle set are $100 per chance, the winner of which will be drawn on Saturday, May 7 at 9 p.m. The event can also be viewed on Facebook Live.
Some of the rare bourbons in the 20-bottle drawing include Smoke Wagon Rare & Limited, Michter’s Toasted Barrel Finish, Old Forester 150th Anniversary, Kentucky Owl Bourbon 2021, and more. Some two- and three-bottle sets are included as well. Tickets for this raffle are $25 per chance. The drawing will take place on Saturday, May 7 at 9 p.m., and will also be livestreamed on Facebook Live.
Winners do not have to be present at the concert to win, they will be notified by email and sent instructions on how to pick up their items. Tickets can be purchased at kyso.org/raffle or by phone at (859) 431-6216.
