Covington’s fall native plant giveaway event will return in early September.
The event will see the distribution of one free native plant to Covington residents. A similar event took place in the spring.
“After seeing how excited residents were to participate in our spring giveaway, we knew we had to bring it back,” Covington Parks & Recreation Manager Greg Stacy said. “Native plants are an easy way for residents to make a positive impact on our local environment while adding beauty and biodiversity to their own yards and outdoor spaces.”
The event will take place on Wednesday, Sept. 2 at Goebel Park from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Covington residents can receive a single plant that’s appropriate for their outdoor space. Planting management guides will be provided. Residents who want to attend must register in advance by filling out the city’s online contact form here.
