Candidate for: Fort Thomas City Council
Incumbent
Ben Pendery said he is running for re-election for the Fort Thomas City Council because he is heavily invested in the community and cares about it.
He said local governments need leaders with experience who are thoughtful, patient and who listen. Pendery said he understands the way cities operate, how they can be more efficient and the council’s role in facilitating a transparent and effective operation that protects its people.

Pendery faces a Fort Thomas City Council primary on May 19 against: Allison Alessandro, Steve Arey, Ken Bowman, Adam Blau, Mary Anne Brown, Brad Fennell, Frances Hoffman, Brandon Long, Lauren McIntosh, Huey Pergrem, Brandon Roller, Hunter Schlosser, Eric Strange and Ashley Sullivan.
The way Pendery said he approaches city issues is with the following in mind: respect for the past, gratitude for the lessons learned and the growth the city has achieved and a tirelessly optimistic vision for the future.
A graduate of Highlands High School and Denison University, Pendery earned a degree in political science before beginning his career in both the public and private sectors. He previously served as a legislative liaison under Ohio Governor John Kasich and has held several business and sales roles. He currently works as a business risk manager for a local family insurance agency.

Pendery said he and his wife, Devin, chose Fort Thomas to raise their two children for many of the same values that the community shares.
“I have had the honor of serving on council for three terms and ask for your support for a fourth,” Pendery said. “While I’ve been involved, I’ve formed meaningful relationships with fellow elected officials, city staff, our first responders and a deeper understanding and commitment to the voice of the community.”
