The Covington Jack O’ Lantern Festival is returning this Saturday with spooky season celebrations.

The festival will be held at Randolph Park from 5 to 8 p.m., and the city is hosting a special Pumpkin Carving Night on Wednesday. Pumpkins carved will be displayed at the festival, where the first 50 kids to arrive get a special surprise.

“This year, we partnered with the Center for Great Neighborhoods to make the Jack O’ Lantern Festival even better for the Covington community,” said Gregory Stacy, Parks & Recreation manager, in a city press release. “It’s one of our most popular events each year, and we’re always looking for ways to make it more memorable. This year will be a special one.”

The event drew over 600 attendees last year, according to a press release from the city.

This year’s activities will include carnival games, face painting, bounce houses, food and drink, costume contests and a live magic performance from nationally-recognized magician Charlie Cadabra. The event is free and friendly for all age groups.
