Three Northern Kentucky companies were named to Inc. Magazine’s fastest growing companies in the southeast list for 2023.
The list is a regionalized spinoff of the magazine’s famous Inc. 5000 list. In total, 1,125 companies from seven different United States regions were included. The criteria for making the list was based on revenue growth from 2019 to 2022.
Kentucky was placed in the southeast region along with Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, South Carolina, Tennessee and Puerto Rico. As a whole, the southeast region experienced 174% median revenue growth over the past two-year timespan.
Last year, six Northern Kentucky companies made the list, with Motus Freight being the only repeat inclusion. Other companies listed last year included LapTop of the Line in Walton, MACKEY in Bellevue, Blair Technology Group in Covington, LaurAsh in Covington and Refurb Ninja in Walton.
Diversified Capital Management
Newport
This construction investment firm out of Newport was ranked 32nd on the list. Founded in 2011, the company restores dilapidated or forgotten properties in Northern Kentucky, Cincinnati and Washington state. Over the past two years, the firm has experienced 744% growth.
Some of their redevelopment projects listed on their website include 736 Monmouth St. in Newport, 649 York St. in Newport and 402 W. 9th St. near downtown Cincinnati.
Motus Freight
Bellevue
Coming in at 72 is Motus Freight, a transportation and logistics company out of Bellevue that, according to the company’s website, uses technology to deliver real-time value to their clients. Founded in 2015, they experienced 274% growth in the past two years. Last year, the company was listed at 58 on the same list.
They’ve also been featured twice on the Inc. 5000 Fastest Growing Companies list, where they finished within the top 1,500 in back-to-back years, with their most recent appearance being 2021.
STEP CG
Covington
Finally, STEP CG, an IT services company based in Covington, was listed at 194. The company offers its clients solutions for cloud storage, security, collaboration and core infrastructure. Founded in 2014, the company experienced 64% growth over the past two years.
The company has been listed on Inc. 5000 Fastest Growing Companies list for three straight years, finishing inside the top 3,000 each time.
