There is some planned road work that is being done in Campbell County in the coming days. Most of the work will be done during off-peak hours, according to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, but it is better that you know about the traffic changes and road closures ahead of time.
I-471 – Milepoint 0.0 to Milepoint 5.1 – There will be periodic lane closures on I-471 Northbound and Southbound beginning Sunday, August 24th through Sunday, August 31st during off-peak hours. Drivers should exercise caution and watch for traffic control devices, construction personnel and equipment entering and leaving the work zone.
o Beginning Sunday, August 24th at 11:00 PM, the entrance ramp from KY 8 to I-471 Southbound will be closed for approximately 3 hours for pavement work. Traffic wishing to enter I-471 Southbound should proceed on KY 8 and turn South on Monmouth St. (US 27). Traffic should then turn left on to 10th Street (KY 1120). The detour will end at the Southbound entrance ramp to I-471. A detour will not be posted.
o Beginning Monday, August 25th at 2:00 AM, the entrance ramp from Memorial Parkway (KY 1120) to I-471 Southbound will be closed for approximately 3 hours for pavement work. Traffic wishing to enter I-471 Southbound should enter I-471 Northbound, then take the KY 8 exit and turn left onto West KY 8. The detour will end at the I-471 Southbound entrance ramp from KY 8. A detour will not be posted.
I-471 NB (Daniel Carter Beard Bridge) NB and SB – On September 4th, 2014, between 9 AM until 3 PM Monday, a single lane closure will be in place for a bridge inspection. Motorists should watch for crews, equipment and lane closure.
KY 547 (Riley Road) – Lane closures will be in place on KY 547 (Riley Road) between 8:30 AM until 4:30 PM so crews can construct a new water main between KY 9 and KY 10 in Alexandria. Alexandria Police will be providing traffic control. Closure will remain in place until project is complete.
