A Bromley man is convicted of raping a child.
On Wednesday, a Kenton County jury found Alfie Compton guilty of first degree rape, two counts of first degree sodomy, and first degree sexual abuse. The charges stemmed from raping a child under 12 years old.
Ludlow Police Sgt. Eric Love investigated the case.Â
On May 2, 2016, Compton was arrested on a warrant that alleged that he subjected a girl to various sexual acts from the ages of 6 to 13. The crimes happened in Compton’s Bromley home.
The two-day trial ended Wednesday and on Thursday, a jury recommended a 30-year prison sentence.
Kenton Circuit Judge Gregory Bartlett will have final say on how long Compton is sent to prison. Upon release, he will be required to register as a sex offender.
