Kid sisters Reese Anthony and Nora Anthony are back at it on the golf course. The remarkable Hebron duo performed a rare feat Thursday, with both capturing GCGA 1905 Junior Tour individual championships at Blue Ash Golf Course.
Reese Anthony won the girls ages 10-12 championship with an 18-hole score of 14-over-par 85, securing a five-shot cushion at the stroke-play event. She carded two birdies en route to a score of 38 on the front nine. The 12-year-old is in the class of 2031 in the Boone County School District. This is her second win on tour in three events this season.
Nora Anthony won the girls ages 7-9 tournament unopposed. The 9-year-old carded one birdie and scored 39 on the front nine, finishing with an 18-hole score of 86. This is also her second win on tour in two events. She is in the class of 2033.

Reese Anthony also won the girls ages 10-12 championship at last week’s A.J. Classic at A.J. Jolly Golf Course in Alexandria. She shot a 9-hole total gross score of 6-over-par 41, good for a three-shot win. Nora Anthony won the girls ages 7-9 title at the A.J. Classic with a 9-hole total gross score of 2-over 34.
Last year on tour, Reese and Nora became the winningest single-season Kentucky sister duo among GCGA 1905 Junior Tour players 12 and under, combining for more than 15 tour wins in 2023. The sisters represent Traditions Golf Club in Hebron and have combined for four wins so far this season.

Conner’s Seals Takes Fourth
Conner High School’s Sofia Seals placed fourth in the GCGA 1905 Junior Tour Championship girls ages 13-15 event at Blue Ash. The freshman golfer carded a two-round, 36-hole total of 186, scoring 90 in round two. She birdied Nos. 4 and 16 in Thursday’s second-day action and scored 43 on the back nine.
This was Seals’ fourth tournament event on tour this season. She placed 9th at last year’s KHSAA Region 7 tournament as an eighth grader. She was the third-place individual state qualifier and the youngest of the 10 individuals advancing out of the region. The next youngest girl was a sophomore. Seals also qualified for state as a Conner seventh grader and was the youngest girl in the region to advance. The next youngest was a freshman.
Dixie’s Woolwine Shines At A.J. Classic
Dixie Heights High School sophomore Jack Woolwine won the boys ages 13-15 division championship at last week’s A.J. Classic at A.J. Jolly Golf Course. Woolwine shot 3-over 38 on the front nine and carded an 18-hole score of 9-over 80, winning by four shots over runner-up Brycen Schatzman (84) from Kenton County. Ryle sophomore Jack Maegly placed fifth with a score of 90.
Highlands senior Oliver Golden placed third at the A.J. Classic boys ages 16-18 event, carding an 18-hole score of 10-over 81, eight shots behind the winner. He shot 3-over 38 on the front nine. Golden represents Highland Country Club.
Cole Catacora from the Fort Thomas Independent School District won the A.J. Classic boys ages 7-9 championship with a total gross score of 1-over-par 33.
Senior Emma Laker from Bishop Brossart was runner-up in the A.J. Classic girls ages 16-18 event, scoring 10-over 81, two shots behind the winner.

Ryle sophomores Elizabeth Dickson and Lacey Wilson finished 2-3 in the girls ages 13-15 division at the A.J. Classic. Dickson was runner-up with a score of 89, and Wilson was third at 101.
Sweeney, Leonard, Petrey Top Finishers At Senior Met
Jim Sweeney placed sixth in the Bill Deupree Flight at this week’s 76th Metropolitan Senior Men’s Championship at Stillmeadow Country Club in Cincinnati. Sweeney, representing Traditions Golf Club, finished Tuesday’s second round with a two-day score of 10-over-par 150. He carded 75 both days and finished nine shots behind the flight winner. He was the overall 14th-place finisher in the championship division.
Tom Leonard from Summit Hills Country Club placed fourth in the Tony Blom Flight, scoring a two-round total of 8-over 148, just five shots off the lead. Leonard’s score was good for a fifth-place finish in the Super Seniors Division.
Rob Petey from Traditions Golf Club placed seventh in the John Wood II Flight, carding a two-day score of 12-over 152, eight shots behind the flight winner.
Muller 12th At Kentucky Open

Former Highlands golfer and current Northern Kentucky University player Luke Muller finished in a tie for 12th at this week’s 105th Kentucky Open. Muller carded a three-round score of 9-under 207 at University of Louisville Golf Club, finishing under par all three rounds with scores of 70-68-69. He finished nine shots behind winner Ashton Van Horne (198), who was granted a $13,000 share of the total purse.

Muller’s once and future teammate Justin Gabbard finished in a tie for 36th at 214. Gabbard, a former teammate of Muller’s at Highlands, transferred to NKU this summer from Xavier.
Former Ryle golfer Chris Harpum finished in a tie for 41st at the Kentucky Open. This year’s Greater Cincinnati Metropolitan Amateur champion finished with a score of 215. The University of Cincinnati golfer shot 69 in the third and final round on Thursday.
