A social media announcement from the company stated the outages were due to a transmission problem with Owen Electric’s supplier, Eastern Kentucky Power Collective. Five substations, as well as the company’s head office in Owen County, are affected. Crews are responding, the company said, but they did not give an ETA on when power would be restored.
