I’m Kathleen Bryant and I am LINK nky’s new Boone County reporter!

I am uniquely passionate about everything in Boone County because it’s where I got my start. I grew up in Florence and graduated from Boone County High School. My first job in public service was at Mary Rose Mission Soup Kitchen on Main Street and I learned to drive in the old Danbarry Dollar Saver theater parking lot.

I graduated from Northern Kentucky University in 2022 with a degree in Library Informatics and I spent my career, up until now, working in local libraries. I started at the Florence Branch of the Boone County Public Library and most recently worked at the Downtown Cincinnati & Hamilton County Public Library in the Genealogy & Local History Department.

Working in local history, I gained an appreciation for how a local newspaper is not just a public service, it’s also a living historical record. I am excited to bring my experience serving the public and connecting people with the information they need to my position here at LINK nky. More than anything else, I’m glad to be home.

I joined LINK nky as a contributor in 2023 and wrote about government issues in Fort Wright and Fort Mitchell for three years. That’s where I learned how to research a piece of legislation, ask officials the right questions, and write a news article. I’m grateful to now have the opportunity to work at LINK nky in a full-time role.

If you have any questions or ideas for Boone County coverage, feel free to come to my office hours at Velocity Bike & Bean in Florence on Fridays from 8:00 – 9:30 a.m. or, email me at kbryant@linknky.com.
