Bobby Mackey’s Music World, a famous music venue in Wilder, announced this week that it will temporarily move to Florence in March.
The venue will close this weekend to allow the employees to move music equipment and other supplies to the new location. The new location’s address is 8405 US Highway 42 in Florence.
There will be a soft opening on March 8 and 9 and a grand opening on March 15 and 16. Bobby Mackey himself, Wilder Mayor Valerie Jones and possibly Florence Mayor Julie Metzger Aubuchon will do a symbolic hand-off of the venue on a morning radio broadcast with Louisiana-based DJ H.D. Ainsworth at 7 a.m. on KBEF 104.5 FM on March 15.
A representative from Bobby Mackey’s told LINK nky that the current Wilder building is old, and its facilities are deteriorating. The move will allow time for renovations. The representative said that optimistically the original location will reopen within a year, but he could not guarantee that timeline.
