Northern Kentucky’s urban living tour, Beyond the Curb, returns Sunday, Oct. 2, with a visit to Latonia.

The Covington neighborhood will welcome visitors from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. LINK nky readers can get exclusive savings by using the promo code “LINK” when purchasing tickets.

The tour is produced by the Catalytic Development Fund.

Tour coordinator Jill Morenz is excited to bring attention to Latonia. “This will be our twelfth tour and the first time we’ve featured Latonia,” she said. “We are eager to show off its historic downtown, cute houses and unique businesses.”

The one-day, self-guided tour includes 12 properties, including historic homes, artsy renovations and urban apartments. The tour stops include a mix of completed and in-progress projects that offer ideas and inspiration for anyone interested in architecture, interior design and the urban lifestyle.

Early bird tickets are $15 and are available online at BeyondTheCurb.org until Saturday, October 1. Tickets will also be available for purchase for $20 on the day of the tour, either online or at the registration area at The Roost (3616 Decoursey Ave.).

Tickets include admission to exclusive, behind-the-scenes tours of 12 properties, entry to win the “All Things Latonia” raffle basket, and free parking at nearby locations. All ticket holders must start their tour at The Roost Latonia, where they will receive their wristband, tour booklet and gift.

Although an independent city only from 1896 to 1909 before becoming part of Covington, Latonia retains its own unique vibe. The shopping and entertainment district is anchored by historic Ritte’s Corner. On the tour, guests will discover one-of-a-kind eateries and shops and stroll down pretty streets, passing lovely gardens and quirky public art.
