The results are in for the Erlanger City Council. Incumbents Diana Niceley, Jennifer Jasper-Lucas, Tom Cahill, Renee Wilson, Tyson Hermes, Renee Skidmore and Rebecca Reckers will rejoin the council. Challengers Chris Farmer and Michele Fields will fill the remaining open seats.

The Erlanger City Council had 13 candidates vying for nine open seats. The council is one of the larger legislative bodies in Kenton County. Kentucky cities can have anywhere from six to 12 city council seats, according to Kentucky state law.

The city council is the city’s primary legislative body. It institutes local laws, passes a city budget and generally represents the people’s interests in the municipal government. The mayor, whose seat was not up for election this year, can veto laws passed by the council, but the council can vote to override her with a majority vote. Jessica Fette currently occupies Erlanger's mayoral seat. Council positions are nonpartisan, and councilmembers serve two-year terms.

Most of the candidates this year were incumbents: Tom Cahill, Tyson Hermes, Jennifer Jasper-Lucas, Victoria Kyle, Diana Niceley, Rebecca Reckers, Don Skidmore, Renee Skidmore and Renee Wilson. The remaining candidates, Chris Farmer, Michele Fields, Gary Meyer and Frank Wichmann, were challengers.

The city council will undergo a new election cycle in 2026.
