The City of Newport released a statement via Facebook on Wednesday stating that it would not participate in Riverfest 2020.

The city cited Covid-19 concerns as the cause for withdrawing from the event. The city also said that it will not issue any city permits or licenses associated with Riverfest.
According to an event listing on CincinnatiUSA, the annual event, presented by Western and Southern and WEBN is still TBA…so it may not move forward this Labor Day.
A final decision has yet to be announced.
