Kentucky Secretary of State Alison Lundergan Grimes is bringing her Democratic campaign for US Senate to Northern Kentucky again on Saturday.
She is challenging incumbent Republican Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell in November. Polls have shown McConnell with a lead over Grimes, though the Democrat recently released an internal poll giving her a one-point edge.
Grimes starts her Saturday with lunch at the Northern Kentucky Women’s Network luncheon, held at the Syndicate in Newport (18 East Fifth Street). Lunch is at 12:30 and costs $12.Â
Attendees may park across the street from the Syndicate. Be sure to place a sign on your dashboard that says “Syndicate” or “Women’s Network”. A $1 fee will be collected from you in the restaurant.
Attendees are asked to RSVP to Charlene McGrath at:Â charlene_mcgrath@hotmail.com or 859.341.8644.Â
An email from the Grimes campaign to The River City News indicates that Grimes will speak at 2 p.m.
Following that event, the candidate will come to Covington for the official opening of the Northern Kentucky office (234 Pike Street).
