US Senator Mitch McConnell and Kentucky Secretary of State Alison Lundergan Grimes will bring their respective Senate campaigns to Covington in the coming days.
McConnell and Grimes are heavily expected to win their Republican and Democratic primaries next week and face off in November.
McConnell (R), the Senate Minority Leader, hoping for a sixth six-year term, is the guest speaker at the monthly luncheon hosted by the Covington Business Council on Friday. The event starts at 11:30 a.m. with the senator expected to speak at noon at the Madison Event Center. The cost for CBC members is $20 and $35 for non-members if guests register in advance. Grimes (D) will visit Mainstrasse Village next Sunday during Maifest. The first-term Secretary of State will appear at Maifest at 2 p.m. as part of her 50-county jobs tour that launched in western Kentucky last week.
