Burglaries, car break-ins, and thefts topped the list of crimes investigated by Fort Thomas detectives in 2013, according to the FTPD Annual Report, released last week. Police point to drug addiction as a “major theme behind these thefts,” the report says.
Included with the report, Police Chief Mike Daly and his department compiled a comprehensive summary of calls for service, which occurs when an officer(s) is dispatched to a reported incident, non-traffic citation issued, traffic citations and warnings, including a nine-year comprehensive traffic enforcement review, and a summary of the year’s criminal investigations.
Perhaps the most startling statistic in the report comes from the Campbell County Commonwealth Attorney, who estimates that 85% of the county’s felony caseload has been attributed to heroin.
