The Kenton County Library announced its next executive director after conducting a months long search.
Dr. Denise Fritsch, a lifelong resident of Kenton County and former library system employee, will take over as the new library director following the retirement of Dave Schroeder, who announced his departure in March.
“It is an incredible honor to be selected as the next Executive Director of Kenton County Public Library,” Fritsch said in a news release. “As we build on the momentum created under Dave Schroeder’s leadership, I am committed to supporting our outstanding staff, strengthening community partnerships and ensuring the Library continues to inspire lifelong learning, spark imagination and serve everyone in Kenton County.”
Fritsch has over 20 years of leadership experience across public libraries, higher education, and workforce development, including leadership roles at Gateway Community & Technical College. Most recently, she led the Kenton County Library’s career and job services division.
“Kenton County Public Library is in an excellent position because of the strong leadership team and dedicated employees already serving our community,” Kenton County Public Library Board of Trustees Iliana Rosales-Figueroa said in the release. “Denise has earned the trust and respect of colleagues across the organization, and the Board is excited to see her lead the Library into its next chapter.”
In her new role, Fritsch will oversee the library system’s daily functions, including organizational planning, financial management, staff leadership and public advocacy.
