The Simon Kenton and Notre Dame volleyball teams handily won district championships in three sets.

Here is how they went down:

32nd District Championship at Walton-Verona

Simon Kenton 3, Grant County 0 (25-14, 25-17, 25-16)

The Pioneers won their sixth straight district championship with the win over the Braves.

Simon Kenton had 45 kills, 42 assists, 45 digs, three blocks and six aces in the win. Tournament Most Valuable Player Alisha Hawkins had 11 kills, two blocks, two aces and two digs. Sophie Spanier added 11 kills and five digs with Jenna Kitchens tallying 12 kills and four digs. Keira Hans had 10 kills and two digs. Sadie Rehkamp had 40 assists and five digs with Tori Chasteen recording 15 digs and two assists.

Hans and Kitchens and Rehkamp joined Hawkins on the All-tournament team.

The 8th Region Tournament takes place at Eminence, starting on Monday and running through Thursday. Simon Kenton (28-7) takes on the host Warriors (16-13) at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

35th District Championship at Holy Cross

Notre Dame 3, Beechwood 0 (25-15, 25-20, 25-13)

The defending state champion Pandas had their way winning yet another district championship.

Notre Dame had 49 kills, 46 assists, 44 digs, six aces and two blocks in the win. Julia Grace led the Pandas with 14 digs and Ava Tilden had 11 kills and three aces. Riley McCloskey led Notre Dame (27-5) with 14 kills with Gracie Portwood and Ava Erpenbeck smacking down seven each and Ella Goetz had six. Lauren Ott had 22 assists and seven digs with Lizzy Larkins adding 21 assists.

Beechwood had 31 digs, 28 kills and 25 assists. Skylr Estep had 24 assists and Maggie Dawson led the Tigers (25-12) with eight digs. Macy Armstrong had nine kills with Bella O’Brien and Isabel Baaker tallying seven and six respectively.

Both teams advance to the 9th Region Quarterfinals starting Sunday at Cooper. Beechwood takes on St. Henry (29-8) at 1 p.m. and Notre Dame plays Dixie Heights (11-15) at 5:30 p.m.
