The Independence Splash Pad in Memorial Park will remain open for a bit longer than initially expected this year.
Its final day of operation will be Sunday, Sept. 27, according to an announcement from Mayor Chris Reinersman Monday night.
The splash pad itself is new, opening just this year. However, it opened later than expected, the mayor said.
“We wanted to make the most of it while we can this year,” Reinersman said.
