Less than 24 hours after seeing their six-game winning streak snapped, the host Ryle girls knocked off 13th Region contender North Laurel, 48-32 with strong defense.

Ryle’s three leading scorers hit double figures once again. Jaelyn Jones led the way scoring 15 points with Sarah Baker and Quinn Eubank scoring 14 and 10 points, respectively.

Ryle (17-8) travels to Notre Dame on Tuesday for a 7:30 p.m. game.

Notre Dame 47, St. Henry 29

The Pandas took 24 more shots than the Crusaders recording 12 steals off 18 St. Henry turnovers and winning the rebounding battle, 38-27.

Sophia Gibson and Emma Holtzapfel led Notre Dame with 14 points each. Kate Resing led the Pandas with 10 rebounds and Erin McGraw had a team-high three steals.

Kayla Unkraut once again led St. Henry with 11 points and Aubrey Logan scored eight.

Notre Dame (19-5) has won four in a row. The Pandas host Ryle on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.

St. Henry (13-11) host Highlands on Monday at 7:30 p.m.

Scott 55, Bourbon County 38

The Eagles recorded the 10th Region road win.

“That’s probably the most we’ve shared the ball all season,” Scott head coach Eric Pouncy said. “They sat in a zone so we just kind of moved and tried to get the best shot available. Defensively is where we stepped up, getting stops and getting shots in transition, which helped us a lot.”

Scott’s two eighth grade standouts led the way. Noelle Price scored 21 points and Nakiah Mejia scored 13. Kaia Peterson scored eight points.

“We did really well on kickouts,” Scott junior Jayla Sanders said. “With one of the threes I had, we passed the ball around for a good 30 seconds. We just did a good job being patient with that.”

Scott (16-9) hosts Conner on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.

Simon Kenton 54, Boone County 37

The Pioneers celebrated Senior Day with a win.

Brynli Pernell led Simon Kenton with 13 points. Haylie Webb and Bella Ober followed with nine and eight points, respectively.

Simon Kenton (17-7) travels to Holy Cross on Wednesday for a 7:30 p.m. game.

Boone County (5-19) hosts Dayton on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.

Lloyd Memorial 62, Newport 31

Sierra McCoin led three Juggernauts in double figures as Lloyd snapped a two-game losing streak.

McCoin finished with 17 points with three 3-pointers made, Mya Holden adding 13 points and Maleah Ham chipping in 11. Holden added 14 rebounds for a double-double.

Lloyd (11-14) returns to action on Tuesday at the Cincinnati Trailblazers homeschool team at 7 p.m.

Newport (4-21) was paced by DeAyjah White with 19 points and nine rebounds. The Wildcats hit the court next on Tuesday at home against Carroll County at 6:30 p.m.

The Colonels won their fifth in a row behind 22 points from Hudson Blank.

Dixie Heights had scoring balance with three players finishing in double figures. Griffin Derry scored 16 points and Max Rubemeyer scored 13.

Nate Rominger scored 17 points to lead Holy Cross and Aiden Urlage scored 14.

Dixie Heights (15-9) travels to Walton-Verona on Tuesday for a 7:30 p.m. game.

Holy Cross (14-10) has lost three in a row. The Indians host Scott on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.

Ryle 93, St. Henry 66

The Raiders put up their season-high as a team putting six players in double figures in the 9th Region win.

Jonathan DeGroff made five 3-pointers on his way to 19 points and Logan Verax scored 18 for Ryle. Landon Lorms, Evan Smith and Grady Reynolds scored 14 points each and AJ Davis scored 11.

St. Henry put four players in double figures. Caden Kunstek led the way scoring 14 points and Brady Shea scored 13. Carson Shea and Ryan Hartman scored 11 points each.

Ryle (16-9) travels to Bishop Brossart on Wednesday for a 7:30 p.m. game.

St. Henry (8-14) travels to Eminence on Monday for a 7:30 p.m. game.

Highlands 61, Montgomery County 58

Nathan Vinson continued his tear for the shorthanded Bluebirds.

Vinson scored 30 points after posting 42 on Friday night in a loss to Lloyd Memorial, guiding Highlands to a victory on Saturday. Vinny Listerman added 10 points, Lincoln Hicks with nine as the Bluebirds played their second straight game without Brayden Moeves and Hank Shick due to injury.

Highlands (15-11) hosts Holy Cross on Thursday at 7:30 p.m.

Cooper 63, Newport Central Catholic 42

The Jaguars won their eighth straight putting three in double figures.

Jaidan Combs led the way with 16 points, Shaun Pouncy putting up 15 and eight rebounds with Isaiah Johnson scoring 12. Cooper is still awaiting the return of Yamil Rondon, who’s missed the last three games with an injury.

Cooper (17-7) will have their winning streak put to the test on Tuesday when Newport comes to town for a 7:30 p.m. game.

Newport Central Catholic (7-18) has lost three straight and looks to break the streak on Tuesday at Conner for a 7 p.m. contest.

Villa Madonna 47, Leslie County 32

The Vikings got a win behind Henry Thole’s 17 point, 15 rebound effort.

Adam Brandstetter added 12 points and six rebounds.

Villa Madonna (10-13) plays at Holmes on Monday at 7:30 p.m.
