Week 2 LINK nky Pick ’em

Week Two has arrived!

This year at LINK nky, we decided to add some fun to our coverage. We’re going to do a weekly picks contest with the three of the sports writers (Evan Dennison, Ray Schaefer and Josh Kalb) we have here and throw in a little twist…a guest picker each week. The guest picker will most likely be someone you recognize as a member of our community, whether it be someone who is on the sidelines with us, sports TV personalities, former coaches or players or someone who may not even be entrenched in the sports scene, but still invested in our communities to some capacity.

The first week of the season is always tough to pick and it showed as the best record was 7-3 between the four pickers. We were all wrong on picking Highlands over Frederick Douglass and picking Newport over Ludlow. Ray was the only one to pick Brossart over Walton-Verona while Josh and Trent Grayson picked Cooper over Christian County.

Ray and Josh have the early lead at 7-3 while myself and Trent went 6-4. The guest picker will just be a running tally each week to keep up with our weekly picks.

Guest Picker this week: Mark Wehry

Mark is the owner and operator of 859 Sports Radio, providing local sports coverage with an internet webcast since 2019. He has a team of color announcers with him in which they call football, basketball and volleyball at 859sportsradio.com.
