Notre Dame and Conner faced off for the second time in four days.
It came by a wider margin than the Friday meeting, the Pandas winning again 51-43 on the road with balanced scoring. Ryan Burden led the way with 11 points and Sophia Gibson had a near double-double with 10 points and eight rebounds. Emma Holtzapfel and Maya Lawrie followed with eight points each.
Anna Hamilton led Conner with 13 points and Aubree Depenbrock scored 10.
Notre Dame (4-0) ventures to St. Ursula on Thursday at 7:30 p.m., Conner (1-2) hosts Owen County on Saturday at 2 p.m.
Girls Basketball
Holy Cross 56, Dixie Heights 46
The Indians broke their two-game losing streak in the 9th Region win.
Julia Hunt led the way with 19 points and Aniyah Carter scored 10 with Miyah Wimzie adding nine for Holy Cross. Wimzie entered the game averaging a team-high 12 points per game and Hunt averaged 11.3 and eight rebounds. Hunt also collected her 500th career block in the contest.
Catherine Buddenberg scored 28 points to lead Dixie Heights, making five 3-pointers.
Holy Cross (2-2) hosts Highlands on Friday at 7:30 p.m., Dixie Heights (3-1) travels to Boone County on Friday at the same time.
Cooper 61, Highlands 30
The Jaguars continued their solid defensive play with a sound home 9th Region win.
Logan Palmer and Liz Freihofer led the way with 23 and 19 points, respectively. Cooper has yet to allow more than 38 points in a game so far this season.
Marissa Green scored 16 points to lead Highlands (1-3).
Cooper (3-0) travels to three-time defending state champion Sacred Heart on Thursday for a 7 p.m. game. Highlands plays at Holy Cross on Friday at 7:30 p.m.
Beechwood 67, St. Patrick 15
Riley Boyd led 11 different players in the scoring column as the Tigers picked up the road win in Maysville.
Kendale Lair added 12 points, Beechwood hitting nearly 50% from the field and pulling down 36 rebounds. Charley Conarroe led with nine rebounds. Beechwood knocked down seven 3-pointers and hit all four free throw attempts in the victory.
Beechwood (2-1) plays at Bishop Brossart on Friday at 6 p.m.
Covington Latin 40, Kentucky School for the Deaf 14
Monica Juelg poured in 15 points as the Trojanettes won their season opener.
Alexcianna Stokes added nine points while the team pulled down 40 rebounds, Jenna Keller leading the way with 11.
Covington Latin (1-0) returns to action Tuesday at St. Patrick.

The Eagles exploded for a convincing home win with 10 three-pointers and 11 different players scoring.
Four hit double figures. Xarek Sarakatsannis led the way with 20 points, making five three-pointers and Connor Griffin scored 15. Jon Evans and Carter Eten scored 10 each.
Caleb Eaglin led NewCath with 20 points and Ian Mann scored 11.
Scott (2-1) plays host to Beechwood on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. NewCath (1-2) hosts Bracken County at the same time.
Covington Catholic 87, St. Henry 39
The Colonels outscored the Crusaders 33-12 in the second quarter and got the game to a running clock in the second half.
Thirteen different CovCath players entered the scoring column, led by Caden Miller’s 21 points and nine rebounds with four blocked shots to go with it. Brady Hussey added 19 points on 7-of-9 shooting from the field, Athens McGillis adding 10 points. It was the season debut for the football players that joined the team, Cash Harney with six points and seven assists while Donovan Bradshaw and Dylan Gaiser also contributed.
St. Henry was led by Carson Shea with 12 points. The Crusaders committed 28 turnovers and shot 29% from the field.
Covington Catholic (3-1) returns to action on Saturday when they play at Newport in the John Turner Classic at 7 p.m. St. Henry (1-3) hosts Highlands on Friday at 7:30 p.m.
Ryle 89, Holmes 50
The Raiders are off to their second 4-0 start in program history.
Ryle upended Holmes with four players in double figures, led by Landon Lorms with 22 points. Logan Verax chipped in 15, Evan Smith with 12 and Jon Degroff adding 10.
The Raiders will look to make it 5-0 when they host Lloyd Memorial on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. Holmes dropped to 0-3 and hosts Williamstown on Friday at 7:30 p.m.
Villa Madonna 43, Dayton 36
Henry Thole’s 23 point, 13 rebound effort earned the Vikings the home opener win over Dayton.
Adam Brandstetter added 12 points and 10 rebounds as the team hit 10-of-15 free throws to help offset a struggle from the field in which they hit just 29% of their shots, including 1-of-15 from three.
Villa Madonna (1-2) is right back at it on Wednesday, hosting Lloyd Memorial in a 34th District seed game at 7:30 p.m. Dayton (0-4) will try to get their first win of the season on Friday when they host Heritage Academy at 7:30 p.m.
Covington Latin 46, Kentucky School for the Deaf 21
The Trojans opened their season with a win, getting 14 points from Matthew Bier and 12 from Aidan Ross.
Bier shot 7-of-10 from the field, Ross knocking down two 3-pointers in the victory.
Covington Latin (1-0) returns to the court on Tuesday when they play at St. Patrick.
