Tom Ferguson (Dayton), Megan Desola (Conner), Angela Tullis Hummeldorf (Newport Central Catholic), Mike Bramlage (Boone County), Jesse Herbst (Dayton), Hallie Hundermer Booth (Bellevue), Steve Crittendon (Bellevue) and Amy Michelle Carpenter (Conner) will be the newest members of the Northern Kentucky Sports Hall of Fame on Jan. 17 at the Gardens of Park Hills. 

Ferguson played football for the Greendevils from 1963-64, both years he was selected to the NKAC All-Star team and Courier-Journal All-State Class A teams. Ferguson attended Georgetown College following high school, but left early for a tour in Vietnam. 

Desola ran track and cross country all four years at Conner. She won the regional 100-meter and 200-meter dashes during her junior and senior year, winning All-Region in those seasons and dubbed “the fastest girl in NKY”. 

Tullis Hummeldorf was a part of three state championship softball teams with the Thoroughbreds. After the 2000 season, she was named Kentucky Softball Player of the Year. She also played volleyball and earned several All-Tourney teams and MVP awards and officiates volleyball at several levels, including NCAA, AAU and NAIA.

Bramlage was a three-year starter in football and basketball for the Rebels. On the gridiron, he helped lead Boone County to a state runner-up finish in 1992 and the state semifinals in 1993. In ‘93, he led NKY with 10 interceptions and was named to the Coaches Association All-Stars, the NKY Top 24 and was a That’s My Boy Finalist in 1994. He then went on to Thomas More where he earned several All-American honors. 

Herbst played and lettered four years at Dayton, earning All-Conference and NKY All-Star honors in 1989. He also ran track for six years and was named NKAC Runner of the Year in 1989 and ‘90. He attended Campbellsville and was a member of the Mid-South Conference champions in 1992. After college, he came back home and was an assistant coach for the football team for 18 years. He’s also coached at Simon Kenton, where he was the defensive coordinator for the state runner-up Pioneers in 2008. Herbst is currently the head football coach for Dayton. 

Hundermer Booth was a standout swimmer at Bellevue where she was All-Conference seven times, All-Region five times and All-State five times. She was offered a full ride scholarship to Florida State University and qualified for the 1988 Olympic trials. She still holds the record for the 25-meter butterfly in the national YMCA league. She was the swim coach at Dixie Heights and was named 9th Region Coach of the Year in 1998-99. In tennis, she was All-Region three times and accepted a scholarship to play tennis at Northern Kentucky University. She started “First Serve”, which was dedicated to bring tennis to underprivileged kids, teach life skills by using sports and mentoring for the last eight years. Hundermer Booth was elected to the Bellevue High School Hall of Fame in 2007. 

Crittendon was a 3-year starter in both football and basketball for Bellevue. He earned All-Conference honors and Honorable mention All-State in both sports. He was the starting quarterback for the Tigers two state runner-up teams and was named to the first East/West All-Star game and earned MVP honors in the game. He was a 1,000-point scorer for the Tigers basketball team. After high school, Crittendon attended Defiance College and was a four-year starter at strong safety. He was an All-American nomination in 1985 and led the conference in interceptions. After graduating from Defiance, he worked at the White House for the Secret Service. He currently works as a subcontractor for MLB asn an authenticator. 

Carpenter ran track and cross country for five seasons at Conner from 1984-88. She was a regional champ in the 4×100 and 4×200 relay in 1987 and ‘88. She qualified for the Junior Olympics twice in the 4×800 and long jump. After high school, she attended Marshall University and was a part of the team that set the school record in the 4×800 relay and was later named All-Conference.
