Students from St. Philip School participated in a meaningful community event on Friday, honoring the nation’s history and traditions as part of the celebration of America’s 250th birthday.
The entire school community visited Pendery Park for a special Liberty Tree dedication ceremony. During the event, a Kentucky Tulip Poplar, the official state tree, was planted and dedicated as a Liberty Tree. Historically, Liberty Trees served as gathering places during the American Revolution and continue to symbolize unity, freedom, and the enduring spirit of independence.
Students joined community leaders and local officials in commemorating the occasion. Commissioners Brian Painter and Tom Lampe were in attendance, along with Judge Executive Steve Pendery and other local officials.
St. Philip School is honored to have participated in this ceremony and values opportunities that allow students to connect with history in meaningful and memorable ways as the nation approaches this historic milestone.
