Throughout the month of March, the Jeff Ruby Foundation recognized Women’s History Month by partnering with local organizations making a meaningful impact in the communities they serve. The Jeff Ruby team learned more about each organization’s mission to help bring greater awareness to the critical work they are doing. This year’s International Women’s Day theme was “Give to Gain,” which is rooted in the belief that generosity creates a lasting impact.
Team members from the Jeff Ruby Foundation and Jeff Ruby Culinary Entertainment volunteered their time to support organizations that empower and uplift women, including Bethany House Services, Sweet Cheeks Diaper Bank a program of St. Vincent de Paul Cincinnati, and HER Cincinnati. In total, team members contributed more than 132 volunteer hours across 3 organizations in Cincinnati, supporting initiatives ranging from meal service and donation sorting to direct assistance for women and families in need. Through these opportunities, team members were able to get a firsthand look at the selfless and impactful work these organizations do to support our fellow community members. As part of the Women’s History Month initiative, team members partnered with Bethany House Services to organize essential storage spaces and prepare employee appreciation items.
Additional efforts included sorting and packaging essential feminine hygiene supplies and diapers through Sweet Cheeks Diaper Bank, helping address critical needs for families in the region. Volunteers also supported HER Cincinnati by organizing and preparing hygiene, clothing and household items for distribution.
“Throughout March, the Jeff Ruby Foundation was proud to support organizations doing invaluable work to serve and empower women in the communities we care so deeply about,” said Kelly Keene, executive director of the Jeff Ruby Foundation. “As we acknowledge this year’s International Women’s Day theme of ‘Give to Gain’, we are reminded that when we give our time and resources to support others, we strengthen our entire community. We are grateful for the opportunity to uplift and support women and families not only this month, but all year long.”
The Jeff Ruby Foundation partners with a variety of organizations in Cincinnati, Columbus, Lexington, Louisville and Nashville through volunteer opportunities, meal support for families and partnerships with organizations directly involved with the foster care system.
“Supporting our most vulnerable community members is incredibly important to Jeff Ruby Culinary Entertainment, as well as my family,” said Dillon Ruby, president of the Jeff Ruby Foundation. “We were proud to spend the month of March supporting organizations doing the selfless work of providing women and families with the resources they need to thrive. It was humbling to see our team members come together to make a difference in the communities we are thankful to serve.”
The month-long initiative reflects the foundation’s ongoing commitment to strengthening communities by investing in organizations that support women, children and families year-round. Similar initiatives took place in the other communities Jeff Ruby Culinary Entertainment serves through the foundation. Overall, 110 foundation and culinary team members contributed 344 hours serving 8 organizations across Cincinnati, Columbus, Lexington, Louisville and Nashville.
The Jeff Ruby Foundation, led by president Dillon Ruby and executive director Kelly Keene, was established through the philanthropic spirit of the Ruby family and is dedicated to supporting children and families impacted by the foster care system. Recognizing that many vulnerable children are removed from their homes due to poverty, neglect, and abuse, the foundation works to ensure they are met with care, stability, and trusted support. Through a combination of advocacy, direct support, and community partnerships, the foundation also champions long-term, systemic change, including support for initiatives and legal reforms that help youth aging out of foster care successfully transition into independent, stable lives. Ultimately, the Jeff Ruby Foundation is committed to creating a world where no child enters foster care, but if they must, they are surrounded by dignity, compassion, and opportunity.
