Crescent Springs, KY — November 14, 2025 — With the Kentucky Department of Education announcing its transition away from the ACT as the state-funded college admissions exam for high school juniors, many families are left wondering what this means for their students’ college plans. Huntington Learning Center is stepping in to provide clarity, and proven results, when it comes to preparing for both the ACT and SAT.
While the SAT will now serve as the state-funded test for juniors beginning in Spring of 2026, students can still choose to take the ACT independently. Both exams remain widely accepted by colleges and universities nationwide. For students hoping to maximize admissions and scholarship opportunities, strong test scores continue to be one of the most significant factors in the college application process.
“We’ve already been hearing from families who are confused about whether their child can still take the ACT,” said Ana Christow Moreno, Center Director of Huntington Learning Center Crescent Springs. “The answer is absolutely yes. The ACT is still an option—and depending on a student’s academic strengths, the ACT might be the ideal exam for them to achieve admissions to their dream school and scholarship opportunities. At Huntington, we help students achieve their highest possible score on either test.”
Huntington Learning Center has been helping students prepare for the ACT and SAT for nearly 50 years through individualized programs tailored to each student’s needs, skill gaps, and target schools. With expert tutors, proven strategies, and personalized study plans, students gain the confidence and results that open doors to top colleges and scholarship opportunities.
“Whether your student chooses the SAT or ACT, the key is preparation,” added Christow Moreno. “Colleges don’t prefer one test over the other—they care about scores that reflect strong academic ability. Our programs are designed to help students master both the content and strategy needed to perform their best.”
