The City of Florence is reminding residents, businesses and visitors to stay informed about road closures and traffic impacts during the upcoming 11th Annual Honor Run Half Marathon, taking place this Sunday, November 9, 2025.

Started in 2014, the St. Elizabeth Healthcare Honor Run Half Marathon has one simple mission: to honor those who have served us. All proceeds from the Half Marathon, 10K Run/Walk, and 5K Run/Walk are donated to Honor Flight Tri-State, an organization dedicated to flying local veterans of World War II, Korea, and Vietnam to Washington, D.C. for the day to visit the memorials built in their honor.

Over the last 10 years, the Honor Run has proudly donated approximately $430,000 to Honor Flight Tri-State, helping send more than 800 local veterans on this unforgettable journey. Organizers remain committed to continuing the mission: as long as there are veterans to make the trip, they will remain in service to them.

The event begins and ends at the Florence Mall and attracts runners and supporters from across the region. To ensure the safety of participants and spectators, several roads throughout Florence will be temporarily closed beginning at approximately 6:30 a.m. and will reopen around 11:00 a.m. The City encourages motorists to plan alternate routes and allow extra travel time on Sunday morning.
