Studio Kroner is proud to introduce Northern Kentucky resident Brad Davis, winner of the 2023 Cincinnati Art Club’s ViewPoint 55 show, for his solo exhibition “Heirlooms,” which will run from May 10 to June 1, 2024.
Brad’s paintings revolve around urban environments, elevating their commonplace aspects through a thoughtful and personal reconstruction. The Opening Reception will be held on Friday, May 10, from 6-9 pm. An Artist Talk is scheduled for Saturday, May 18, from 1-2 pm, and the Closing Reception will take place on Saturday, June 1.
Brad Davis is a painter from Cincinnati, Ohio. He earned his BFA from the Art Academy of Cincinnati in 2016 and his MFA from the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts in 2018. He is a resident instructor at Manifest Drawing Center and an adjunct professor at the University of Cincinnati’s College of Design, Art, Architecture, and Planning (DAAP).
His work has been exhibited nationally and internationally, including the 2018 XL Catlin Art Prize traveling show and the “Lang Leve Rembrandt” group exhibition at the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam. His paintings are in the permanent collections of the Union League of Philadelphia and Capital One Bank. Brad is represented by Sugarlift Gallery (New York City), F.A.N. Gallery (Philadelphia, Pennsylvania), and Abend Gallery (Denver, Colorado).
“My paintings are centered around the urban environment and seek to transform its banality through careful and personal reconstruction,” says Brad Davis. “Painting is a process of addition and subtraction through physical layers. In the same way, our city is constantly in a state of construction and demolition. Through painting Cincinnati’s ever-changing landscape, I hope to preserve what will inevitably be lost: those treasures that become our city’s heirlooms.”
“We are thrilled to showcase Brad Davis’s exceptional work at Studio Kroner,” says Paul Kroner, owner of Studio Kroner. “Brad is undoubtedly a rising star in the Cincinnati art scene, and we are excited to introduce his unique perspective on our city’s urban landscape to our patrons.”
Studio Kroner invites art enthusiasts and collectors to experience Brad Davis’s remarkable “Heirlooms” exhibition and witness the artist’s masterful ability to capture the essence of Cincinnati’s urban environment.
