A chance for community members to talk with their state legislators at home in our community.
Members of Kentuckians For The Commonwealth as well as Northern Kentucky Inclusive Students in Education (NISE), working with other community members and allies, will be hosting an event for members of the public to meet with the people who represent them in Frankfort. The purpose of the event is to allow folks to meet with their elected officials without having to visit Frankfort, to make it easier to have conversations in the communities legislators represent, and to allow local residents to lift-up the issues they care about in an accessible environment.
“NISE’s core values include Civic Engagement, Solidarity and Collaboration. We value equity, inclusion and our role in creating productive and appropriate members of society; taking action in communities that advance inclusion across identities; and listening with radical empathy to create solutions that improve our communities,” said Trinity of NISE.
KFTC and NISE have reached out to and invited all members of the NKY Caucus, including state Senators and Representatives.
The event will be held at NISE’s office in Bellevue KY, located at 605 Fairfield Ave, Bellevue KY. The event will be from 10am-12pm on Saturday, February 17th. People are welcome to stay the entire time, or drop in as they are able to.
Kentuckians For The Commonwealth will be providing information on some of the issues KFTC works on, have actions people can take, and will be providing some light refreshments for people attending. NISE will be providing information on their work, and how people can get involved with them.
