Kentucky is seeking proposals from private-sector companies that want to bid on the state’s expanding electric vehicle charging network, according to an announcement from the governor’s office.
Gov. Andy Beshear announced Thursday that the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet issued a request for proposals to build up to 37 stations along the interstates and parkways in the state.
“Kentucky has taken a national leadership role in the fast-growing electric vehicle sector. Team Kentucky is not just leading, we are emerging as the Electric Vehicle Capital of America,” Beshear said.
Proposals from interested parties are due by 5 p.m. Aug. 24.
