The Kentucky League of Cities (KLC) presented Sen. Damon Thayer (R-Georgetown) with a 2022 Friend of Kentucky Cities award.
As senate majority floor leader, Sen. Thayer played a key role in ensuring measures important to cities received a vote in the Senate during the 2022 Regular Session.
KLC Executive Director/CEO James D. Chaney thanked Sen. Thayer for his long-standing support of cities.
“Sen. Thayer has always had an open door for city officials throughout his two decades in the Senate,” Chaney said. “We appreciate his willingness to discuss issues vital to the growth and success of cities in his district and across the state.”
Thayer said he was honored to represent all cities within the 17th District.
“Often, issues that impact communities in my region are the same issues facing city officials throughout the state,” Thayer said. “I know the measures we passed this session will help their local officials improve efficiencies and address concerns at the local level. I thank the League.”
Founded in 1927, the Kentucky League of Cities is a membership association of cities across the commonwealth. It bestows a Friend of Kentucky Cities award to legislators who champion issues important to cities during a legislative session.
