The Northern Kentucky Area Development District, sometimes shortened to NKADD, is seeking public input on its new 2027 Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy. To accomplish this, the district is inviting anyone who works or lives in its eight-county service area to fill out three different surveys.
The NKADD is one of several Kentucky area development districts established by law to serve as a funding vehicle to allocate state money to local governments, businesses, school districts and nonprofit organizations that provide public services. It funds programs related to senior services, workforce development, disability services, education and economic development. The NKADD serves programs in Boone, Campbell, Carroll, Gallatin, Grant, Kenton, Owen and Pendleton counties.
The development district has developed three surveys, listed and linked below, to gather public input for its new economic development strategy. Surveys take between 10 and 20 minutes to complete.
- Primary Survey – A basic survey on the overall economic conditions and needs of the NKADD’s service area.
- Priorities Survey – A survey that identifies what the priorities should be over the next five years.
- Projects Survey – A survey that asks residents to identify specific economic development projects around the region that should be considered part of the strategy.
“Community participation is a critical part of the planning process,” reads a press release from the district.
