Kenton County Schools will switch to electronic student registration starting next academic year.

The district is a late comer to electronic registration and filing systems, still officially relying on paper records along with roughly 25 other districts throughout Kentucky, according to district documents. The district hopes this will make the process of registration easier for district families.

“What this process will do is streamline registration all across our school district,” said Superintendent Henry Webb.

The system the district will be moving to is called Infinite Campus, a system that other districts throughout the region use. The Board of Education voted to transition to the system beginning the 2026-2027 academic year Monday night after some brief discussion. The vote to approve was unanimous.

The board members and district professionals discussed some potential quandaries, particularly as it related to families who didn’t have reliable computer or internet access.

“Our people will provide that support, opportunities for families to come into the schools and have support as they enroll and do whatever task they need to do,” Webb said, adding they were considering hosting open houses or other public events where families could be provided with help or computer access.

The district will have to pay a one-time fee of $3,500 to set up the program, followed a by $2 per student annual fee thereafter.
