Road crews are working on a significant project on Grand Avenue in Campbell County that will impact traffic.
This project, which started on Monday, will replace concrete pavement with asphalt from east of Pavilion Parkway to Churchill Drive. Additionally, curb box inlets will be repaired, and sidewalks will be improved to be ADA-compliant.
There will be traffic impacts.
Starting Oct. 20 and lasting for one month, crews will begin working on installing new walls near the Interstate 471 overpass. At the same time, crews will also be removing the center median island and installing temporary pavement in two locations in preparation for work in spring 2026:
- Grand Avenue at the I-471 southbound on/off ramps.
- Grand Avenue at the I-471 northbound on/off ramps.
During this work, the left lane in each direction will be blocked. The furthest left turn lane from Pavilion Parkway to eastbound Grand Avenue will also be blocked. One traffic lane will be maintained at all times. Expect delays and plan ahead for this:
- Eastbound traffic will be reduced to a single lane from Pavilion Parkway to Churchill Drive.
- Westbound traffic will be reduced to a single lane from Churchill Drive to west of the I-471 southbound off-ramp.
Crews will return in spring 2026 to continue work on this project. Throughout 2026, this area will experience various traffic switches, lane closures and ramp closures in phases.
The project is expected to be completed by Aug. 1, 2026.
