The United States Playing Card Company celebrated the 140th anniversary of its famous Bicycle brand of playing card decks, as well as an expansion of its Erlanger facility, on Wednesday.
Gov. Andy Beshear attended the ribbon-cutting.

“This is yet another great project for the commonwealth and an exciting milestone for the United States Playing Card Co.,” said Beshear in a press release. “I am proud to celebrate the 140th anniversary of its Bicycle brand and to help cut the ribbon on their newly expanded facility in Erlanger. I want to congratulate the USPC and thank them for their continued belief in what Kentucky has to offer.”
The expansion of the facility will bring 10 new jobs to the city.
Founded originally in 1867, the U.S. Playing Card Company manufactures several well-known brands of playing cards. It relocated its headquarters from Norwood, Ohio, to Erlanger in 2009.
The expansion, initially announced in 2024, “allows for additional manufacturing capacity with a new press and finishing line,” according to a press release from the governor’s office.
The new jobs include positions on the production line, machine operation, engineering, customer service, sales and production planning.
