As local educators prepare for a new school year, the Kenton County Public Library is offering two ways to help teachers and homeschool families stock up without breaking the bank.

The library will host its Free Teacher Supply Store on Aug. 11, from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Covington Branch, 502 Scott Blvd. Teachers and homeschool educators can browse gently used classroom and art supplies, chapter books and more. Supplies are available at no cost, and attendees must present a valid teacher ID or a letter of intent to the state for homeschool educators.

In addition to the supply store, the library encourages educators to take advantage of the STREAM Center at the Covington and Erlanger branches. The center offers tools such as a large poster printer, Cricut machine, sticker printer, 3D printer, heat press, engraver and more. These resources are ideal for creating banners, bulletin boards, customized stickers and other personalized classroom materials.

Educators only pay for the cost of materials. Training is required for most machines and can be scheduled here or by calling 859-962-4000.

The library also provides ongoing support for teachers and homeschool families through its educator services. These include library cards for educators, educator kits, class visits, homeschool resources and curriculum support. For more information, click here.

“We know that teachers pour their hearts, and often their own resources, into their classrooms,” said Kenton County Public Library Outreach Branch Manager Kari Jones, . “Through programs like the Teacher Supply Store, the STREAM Center and our School Services division, we’re proud to support the educators shaping our community’s future. Our goal is to make it easier for them to access the tools, materials and resources they need to help students thrive.”
