The Carol Ann and Ralph V. Haile Jr. Foundation is expanding its nonprofit grant budget this year by $1 million in the face of government funding uncertainty.

“The nonprofit community has been clear that immediate support is critical to address budget constraints, staffing challenges and the strain on leadership impacting morale, talent retention and overall organizational stability,” according to a foundation press release. “The demands on nonprofit leaders have never been greater, and the Haile Foundation stands alongside them in navigating these complex circumstances.”

The expansion now brings the organization’s grant budget to about $13 million for the year. It will enable the foundation to provide select nonprofits with additional stabilization and emergency funding, allowing them to continue their services. One hundred twenty-three organizations were notified of their extra funding awards on Friday.

“These have been challenging months, yet the resilience, empathy and perseverance of our nonprofit partners continue to inspire,” said foundation CEO and President Bernie McKay in the release. “We deeply value their commitment to their missions and are honored to stand beside them, providing financial relief and strategic resources to safeguard and sustain their vital work.”

Although the extra funding has already been doled out, organizations that wish to apply for funding from the remaining Haile Foundation grant budget can do so at hailefoundation.org.
