Newport-based New Riff Distilling has expanded its Single Barrel program to include 6-year-old bourbon barrels available for selection.

New Riff’s Single Barrel program allows different groups to hand-select their barrel of bourbon or rye whiskey. The distillery now offers three options for its Single Barrel Selection: 4-year-old bourbon, 6-year-old bourbon, and 6-year-old rye whiskey. Single Barrel Selections are often popular with bourbon clubs, retailers, restaurants, and corporate groups.

The distillery also offers 4-year-old Single Barrel Bourbon and 6-year-old Single Barrel Rye for barrel selections, which can be purchased in customizable quantities starting at just 90 bottles, a practice not typically offered in the industry.

Whole-barrel purchases of 6-year bourbon are only available through the selection program and are not sold at retailers unless it’s part of a store’s private barrel pick. The 4-year bourbon and 6-year rye options are available for purchase in smaller quantities.

Barrel selections include tours of the main distillery and West Campus, which houses the rickhouses and bottling hall. Picks take place in a historic tasting room and conclude with a visit to New Riff’s Aquifer Tasting Room.

New Riff also offers next-day pickup for selections and shipping to eligible states. Staff-selected barrels, aged for four years, remain available for purchase at retail.
