The Girl Scouts of Kentucky’s Wilderness Road broke ground on their new Northern Kentucky Leadership Campus last week.

The campus aims to “bring outdoors into this urban camp so girls from all over can come here and experience a little slice of nature,” according to Taylor Jauregui, fundraising development manager at Girl Scouts of Kentucky’s Wilderness Road.

Currently, the closest office for the Girl Scouts of Kentucky’s Wilderness Road is in Lexington, so the new facility will serve as a central hub for the organization in Northern Kentucky. The new campus will be found on Watson Road in Erlanger.

“This groundbreaking is not just the start of construction—it’s the start of a new chapter for Kentucky’s girls,” said Susan Douglas, CEO of Girl Scouts of Kentucky’s Wilderness Road in a press release. “The Leadership Campus will provide modern, inclusive and inspiring spaces that allow Girl Scouts—and all young people in our community—to dream bigger, lead bolder and grow stronger. It’s a place where their futures will take shape.”

The new campus will feature both indoor and outdoor learning spaces, technology and other facilities related to STEM and civic education.
